During my time at Van Pelts, I've worked heavily on their Print Plus site. The goal was to modernize the ordering of customized produces for a Van Pelts Office plus, and drastically reduce the amount of work required to produce the final printed product. The site runs on top of a heavily modified CodeIgniter back-end, and features a powerful yet simple interface for uploading photos, mapping them to various customizable products, and then ordering and shipping those products.
The guts of the site turn out a ready-to-print PDF, bringing the amount of staff time required for each order down to almost nothing, in turn allowing Van Pelt's to significantly lower the price of customized items.
